Account Settings

Manage your personal SimpleGrader account, including your profile information, password, and notification preferences.

Accessing Account Settings

To access your personal account settings:

1. Click your avatar or name in the navigation
2. Select Account Settings or Profile

Account settings are separate from school settings and affect only your personal experience.

Updating Your Profile

Display Name

Your display name appears throughout SimpleGrader:

• In classroom member lists
• On attendance records you create
• On grade comments you write
• In notifications sent to others

To update your name:

1. Go to account settings
2. Edit the Name field
3. Save changes

Profile Avatar

Add a photo to your profile:

1. Go to account settings
2. Click on your current avatar or the placeholder
3. Upload an image (JPG, PNG, max 5MB)

Your avatar appears next to your name in the interface.

Email Address

Your email is used for:

• Logging into SimpleGrader
• Receiving notifications
• Password recovery

To change your email:

1. Go to account settings
2. Edit the Email field
3. Verify the new email address
4. Save changes

Password and Security

Changing Your Password

To update your password:

1. Go to account settings
2. Find the password section
3. Enter your current password
4. Enter your new password
5. Confirm the new password
6. Save changes

Password requirements:

• Minimum 8 characters
• Mix of letters and numbers recommended

Password Recovery

If you forget your password:

1. Click Forgot Password on the login page
2. Enter your email address
3. Check your email for a reset link
4. Create a new password

Notification Preferences

Control how SimpleGrader notifies you:

Email Notifications

Choose which events trigger email notifications:

• Invitation responses
• Important system updates
• Account security alerts

In-App Notifications

Configure what appears in your notification center:

• New student enrollment
• Grade updates in your classrooms
• Attendance reminders

Switching Schools

If you have access to multiple schools:

1. Click the school name in the navigation
2. Select a different school from the list

Each school has separate:

• Students and classrooms
• Settings and configurations
• Team members

Your personal account settings remain the same across all schools.

Leaving a School

To remove yourself from a school:

1. Go to account settings
2. Find the school membership section
3. Click Leave School
4. Confirm your choice

Deleting Your Account

To permanently delete your SimpleGrader account:

1. Go to account settings
2. Scroll to the danger zone
3. Click Delete Account
4. Confirm by entering your password

Session Management

View and manage your active sessions:

• See devices where you're logged in
• Log out of specific sessions
• Log out of all sessions except your current one

This helps secure your account if you've logged in on shared devices.
